She’s been called everything from a "Cult figure" and an "uncompromising artist," (Earshot Jazz) to "the greatest living jazz singer," (Herb Ellis).

As one of the few improvisers in vocal jazz to master the vocabulary, Nancy King has “indefatigable scat chops and a remarkably elastic range.” (The Oregonian)

The Dena DeRose Trio

Dena DeRose

"The most creative & compelling singer-pianist since Shirley Horn," that’s exactly how Joe Siegel described Dena DeRose. She not only awes her audience and music critics with her facility on the piano and her vocal talent, but "…she exudes joy...what soul!" Dena and her trio have developed a hard-swinging and dynamic sound that audiences really dig. From U.S. clubs like the Blue Note, Jazz Standard, and the Kennedy Center to Body and Soul in Tokyo, the Jazz Center in Istanbul, and Alexander Platz in Rome, she delivers "…vivid and exciting demonstrations of how innovative her musical concepts are".
